Nursing care at Memorial Hospital is provided by professional registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and nurse assistants who take pride in providing quality patient care. These friendly, familiar faces work under a physician’s direction and make your stay as pleasant as possible. The nursing staff recognizes the importance of family involvement, which can play a major role in a loved one’s recovery, by encouraging family support.
Medical/Surgical Unit
The Medical/Surgical Unit is the general nursing unit where
patients are admitted for inpatient care of
post-surgical, general illnesses and injuries. Intravenous
therapy and wound treatment are common acute services provided
by the department.
The unit is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The unit
has eight semi-private rooms and 13 private rooms. Patients
enjoy remote control television and each room has its own
bathroom.
Intensive Care Unit
The Intensive Care Unit is for patients who need constant monitoring and surveillance. The unit is equipped with seven private rooms located around a central nursing station where patients can be easily monitored with the use of computerized telemetry. Specially trained staff provide care in this unit.
